安娜Killius is a Policy Analyst at the James River Association (JRA). From the banks of the James River, to the halls of Virginia’s General Assembly, 安娜是个热情的管家, 提倡, and rising star among the next generation of Chesapeake champions. It’s hard to over-sell her accomplishments at the General Assembly, where she’s already accumulated an impressive track record. Anna has helped to secure bipartisan legislation that keeps coal ash out of our rivers and cattle out of our streams. She’s also successfully lobbied for bills that promote the implementation of living shorelines, and against bills that would shortsightedly loosen Virginia’s oversight of water use and extraction.
 
Anna’s achievements, 然而, extend beyond the General Assembly. 除了, Anna gives voice to the environmental community as a member of the Chesapeake Bay Citizens Advisory Committee. She also serves as legislative co-chair for the Virginia Conservation Network, where she liaises with dozens of environmental groups and facilitates the vital conversations that prioritize environmental issues, 扩大他们的受众, 让他们的声音多样化, 找到共同点. 加入JRA之前, Anna was selected by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration as a 2014 Knauss Sea Grant Legislative Fellow and served as legislative counsel for Congressman John Sarbanes of Maryland, advancing his work as co-chair of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Caucus. Anna also represents JRA within the Choose Clean Water Coalition, where regional advocacy and implementation strategies are devised.
 
Anna has spent most of her life on the shores of the Bay, and has chosen to make the Bay the centerpiece of her life’s work. Her talent and passion for the job are clear. Coupled with a deeply instilled connection to the Chesapeake, her work will continue paying dividends for Chesapeake Bay conservation for years to come.
